MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported on Sunday that it recorded 86 offshore earthquakes in Ilocos Sur from December 17 to 22.

Article continues after this advertisementOn Friday, the state seismologist said 49 earthquakes were recorded west-northwest of Santa Catalina, Ilocos Sur, between December 17 and 20. These are now included in the 61 plotted earthquakes.

Phivolcs said it would continue to monitor and tally earthquake activity in the area.
